Improving the Taste of Your Tap Water

by Roy Morris

If you do not like the taste of water that comes out of your sink, and you do not wish to purchase bottled water, you may wonder whether there are some ways to improve the taste on your own. There are a few different methods you can try to make your tap water taste like bottled water without paying extravagant prices. Here are some options you have available in being successful in this task.

Purchase a Water-Filtration System

Your tap water may have minerals within its composition that make it have an unfavorable taste. Purchasing a filtration system will remove impurities before you consume the liquid. Smaller pitcher-like containers can be purchased, and water can be placed inside directly from your tap so these impurities are removed before you pour yourself a glass to drink. If you do not wish to wait for this process, a filter can be added directly to each of the faucets on your sinks so all water dispensed is free of contaminants. A filtration system can also be placed at the water's point of entry into your household instead of through smaller units if desired.

Boil Water Before Drinking It

Some find that boiling tap water will improve the taste dramatically. The downside of this method is needing to wait for the water to cool before you drink it. To speed up the process, boil water and place it in a pitcher inside of your refrigerator. It is a good idea to do this daily so you do not run out of drinking water that you enjoy. You can also make ice cubes from boiled water to cool down the next batch if you cannot keep up with the demand needed.

Add Flavor to Your Water

If your water has only a slightly unfavorable taste, you may be able to disguise the flavor with the addition of fruit. Slice up several lemons or limes to keep on hand and place them in a container of water right after the water is dispensed from your faucet. Place the container in the refrigerator and wait for the flavor of the fruit to spread throughout your water before you drink it. Adding tea, fruit juice, mint, or sugar to your water may also make it taste better. Berries will also add a splash of flavor to a container of water. Simply place several rinsed strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries into your water for several minutes to improve the taste.

About Me

Brick & Mortar Vs Online Businesses: My Experience

I have owned my own small businesses for years, and I have always been happy to share my business tips with other entrepreneurs, especially those just starting out. One question I get asked about a lot is whether it is a better idea for a beginner to open an online business or a brick & mortar shop. While I wish I had a one-size-fits all answer, the truth is that it really depends on what you are selling (or what service you are providing), how the economy is doing in your local area, and your personal business goals and dreams. However, every brick & mortar business should have a website today, and it only makes sense to sell products on a website that your business needs anyway. I have many more business tips to share, and I decided to start a blog to share them with all aspiring entrepreneurs!
